     546.31 Trial unfinished at end of term.  


    When the trial of any action or proceeding, or of an 
 indictment, is not concluded at the expiration of the term in 
 which it was begun, it may be concluded; and all proceedings may 
 be had in the case in the same manner and with like effect as if 
 it had been concluded within such term.
