Each application for a nuclear fuel processing facility shall contain a description of alternatives available to the applicant that differ significantly from the proposed facility with respect to location, size, timing, or design. The description of each alternative shall include the following information, if applicable:
the required land area, the height of the tallest structures, and if applicable, the depth and size of any underground caverns;
the sources and amounts of input materials that would be processed by the facility, including uranium, plutonium, structural metals, and fission products, and the products that would be produced;
the projected annual operating and maintenance costs in current dollars for each of the first five calendar years of operation;
the projected types and amounts of energy products that would be consumed during operation at the design capacity;
the estimated average percentage of use of the full design capacity for each of the first five years of operation;
a discussion of the maintenance requirements of the facility, including the estimated impact on production; and
