A permit expired less than one year constitutes proof of having passed the required knowledge test, but the expired permit may not continue to be used throughout a sequence of tests, practice periods, or driver's training.
One road or skills test is allowed using a permit that has been expired for less than one year.
If the road test is failed, the applicant shall renew the instruction permit before practice driving begins.
