A person authorized under part 4731.4403, subpart 1, for medical use of radioactive material may receive, possess, and use the following radioactive material for check, calibration, transmission, and reference use:
sealed sources that do not exceed 30 millicuries (1.11 GBq) each and that are manufactured and distributed by a person licensed under part 4731.3400 or equivalent requirements of the NRC or an agreement state;
sealed sources that do not exceed 30 millicuries (1.11 GBq) each and that are redistributed by a licensee authorized to redistribute the sealed sources manufactured and distributed by a person licensed under part 4731.3400, providing the redistributed sealed sources are in the original packaging and shielding and are accompanied by the manufacturer's approved instructions;
any radioactive material with a half-life not longer than 120 days in individual amounts not to exceed 15 millicuries (0.56 GBq);
