relating to health; lowering the minimum age requirement for blood donation; requiring parental consent;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 145.41.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
new text begin (a) new text end Any person of the age of 17 years or over deleted text begin shall be eligible todeleted text end new text begin maynew text end donate blood in any voluntary and noncompensatory blood program without the necessity of obtaining parental permission or authorization.
new text begin (b) A person who is 16 years of age may donate blood in a voluntary and noncompensatory blood program if the person obtains written permission from the person's parent or guardian. new text end
