CHAPTER 305-S.F.No. 3145 An act relating to the city of Minnetonka; providing a variation from the general statutory priority for designation of a qualified newspaper for publication of its official proceedings and public notices. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. [MINNETONKA OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER DESIGNATION.] Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 331A.04, subdivision 2, if the city of Minnetonka has one or more qualified newspapers with either a known office of issue or a major secondary office within the city, the one if there is only one, or one of them if there are more than one, may be designated as the newspaper for publication of its official proceedings and public notices when designation is authorized or required by the city charter or by statute. For the purpose of this section, a "major secondary office" is a secondary office with a circulation of at least 5,000 copies, and home delivery to at least a majority of the residences, within the city. Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE; NO LOCAL APPROVAL.] Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 645.023, subdivision 1, paragraph (a), section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
