Laws of Minnesota 1992 CHAPTER 384-S.F.No. 1633 An act relating to the city of Bloomington; providing for the membership of the port authority; amending Minnesota Statutes 1990, section 469.071, by adding a subdivision. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1990, section 469.071, is amended by adding a subdivision to read: Subd. 6. [MEMBERSHIP.] The port authority of the city of Bloomington shall consist of seven commissioners. The mayor and a member of the city council shall serve on the port authority during their service as mayor and council member. For vacancies that occur among the other members after the effective date of this act, the terms shall be as follows: for the first two vacancies, each member shall serve a term of two years and for the last three vacancies, two members shall serve a term of four years and one member shall serve a term of six years. For subsequent terms, the term is six years. Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE.] Section 1 is effective the day after the filing of a certificate of local approval by the governing body of the city of Bloomington in compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, subdivision 3.
