Laws of Minnesota 1992 CHAPTER 372-H.F.No. 1567 An act relating to retirement; Falcon Heights volunteer firefighters relief associations; authorizing full vesting with five years of service. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. [FALCON HEIGHTS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS RELIEF ASSOCIATION: FULL VESTING AT FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE.] Notwithstanding any provision of Minnesota Statutes, section 424A.02, subdivision 2, to the contrary, if the articles of incorporation or bylaws of the relief association so provide, the Falcon Heights volunteer firefighters relief association may pay an unreduced service pension to a retiring member who has completed at least five years of service. The service pension may be paid when the retiring member meets the minimum age requirement of Minnesota Statutes, section 424A.02, subdivision 1. Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE.] Section 1 is effective upon approval by the Falcon Heights city council and compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, and applies for the plan year in which the reduced vesting provision is approved and implemented.
