Laws of Minnesota 1991 CHAPTER 280-S.F.No. 1440 An act relating to motor vehicles; providing for certain indemnities in lease agreements; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 168. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. [168.2702] [MOTOR VEHICLE LEASES: INDEMNITY AGREEMENTS.] Notwithstanding other law to the contrary, a provision in a motor vehicle lease agreement that indemnifies the lessor against any claims or liabilities arising out of the use, operation, or maintenance of the vehicle by the lessee includes the right to indemnity for traffic violations, penalties, and punitive damages caused by the lessee and is enforceable in accordance with its terms. This section does not relieve the lessor of any liability, penalty, or damages arising out of its own acts or omissions.
