Laws of Minnesota 1988 CHAPTER 467-H.F.No. 2615 An act relating to health; providing for a temporary license for freestanding 24-hour emergency medical centers until permanent rules are adopted. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. [TEMPORARY LICENSE FOR FREESTANDING 24-HOUR EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE CENTERS.] Until permanent rules are adopted for licensing freestanding 24-hour emergency medical care centers, as described in Minnesota Statutes, section 144.50, subdivision 2, the commissioner of health shall issue a temporary license to any medical clinic or professional association that was in operation as a freestanding 24-hour emergency medical care center on February 1, 1988, upon receiving the following information: (1) the name and address of the center; (2) the date the center began operation as a freestanding 24-hour emergency medical care center; (3) the name, title, and telephone number of the person responsible for the general management of the center; (4) the name and professional license number of each health care provider who provides services to patients of the center; (5) the name, title, and telephone number of the medical director of the center or other health care professional designated by the center to receive complaints and respond to questions about the care provided by the center; and (6) a copy of the written protocol of the center that provides for a standardized system of medical care delivery for specific situations. The temporary license is effective until 60 days after the date the permanent rule is adopted. The center shall inform the commissioner of any changes in the information required to be provided to the commissioner under this section. Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE.] Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment. Approved April 6, 1988
