Laws of Minnesota 1986 CHAPTER 345-H.F.No. 2111 An act relating to the city of Medina; authorizing a payment by the city for utility construction. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. [UTILITY PAYMENT.] Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law, the city of Medina may pay to a public utility company not more than $39,762 to finance the construction, by the company, of certain natural gas transmission facilities to be located in the city. Sec. 2. [REFUNDS.] The city may provide by contract with the utility for the refund without interest to the city of all or a portion of the payments made upon the terms and conditions agreed upon in the contract. Sec. 3. [PURPOSE.] The authorization granted by this act is for the purpose of allowing the city to attain its goals of stimulating economic development in the city and surrounding area and is declared to be for a public purpose and in the public interest of the state. Sec. 4. [LOCAL APPROVAL.] This act is effective the day after compliance by the city council of the city of Medina with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, subdivision 3.
