Laws of Minnesota 1984 CHAPTER 470-S.F.No. 1498 An act relating to occupations and professions; clarifying jurisdiction over installment of power limited circuits. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. [INSTALLATION OF POWER LIMITED CIRCUITS.] A person who installs Class II or Class III signaling circuits, power-limited fire protective signaling circuits, or outside wiring for alarm systems, as covered by articles 725, 760, and 800 of the National Electrical Code as approved by the United States of America Standards Institute in effect on January 1, 1984, shall not be required to obtain a license under section 326.242, provided that proof is provided to the board of electricity that a bond and insurance in the amounts required under section 326.242, subdivision 6, have been obtained. The exemption provided by this section does not include installation of wiring in hazardous locations as covered by Article 500 of the National Electrical Code. Nothing in this act shall exempt installations from inspections as defined in section 326.244. Sec. 2. [REPEALER.] Section 1 is repealed effective July 1, 1985. Sec. 3. [EFFECTIVE DATE.] Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment. Approved April 25, 1984
