A bill for an act
relating to higher education; appropriating money for a teacher preparation program
leading to a license to teach the blind or visually impaired.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $250,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $250,000 and fiscal year 2021 are appropriated from
the general fund to the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities
to explore, develop, and establish a teacher preparation program leading to licensure as a
teacher of the blind or visually impaired consistent with Minnesota Rules, part 8710.5100.
The base for fiscal years 2022 to 2024 is $250,000. The base for fiscal year 2025 and
thereafter is $0.
