A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for site selection planning and
predesign for a new facility for Tending the Soil.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $9,000,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the workforce development fund to
the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to Tending the
Soil, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to design, redesign, renovate, construct, furnish,
and equip the Rise Up Center, a building located at 2808 Hennepin Avenue S. in Minneapolis,
that will house a workforce development and job training center, administrative offices,
and a public gathering space.
