A bill for an act
relating to transportation; providing for a penalty for violating requirements of
motor carriers of railroad employees law; amending Minnesota Statutes 2018,
section 221.0255, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 221.0255, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin A motor carrier of railroad employees that violates this section is
guilty of a misdemeanor and must pay a fine of $500 for a first offense, $750 for a second
offense, and $1,000 for a third and subsequent offense.

new text begin This section is effective August 1, 2020, and applies to violations
committed on or after that date.
