A bill for an act
relating to local government; modifying Hennepin County competitive bidding;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 383B.145, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 383B.145, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin Solicitations to small business enterprises or veteran-owned small
businesses. new text end

new text begin A contract, as defined in section 471.345, subdivision 2, estimated not to exceed
$250,000 may be made pursuant to the provisions of section 471.345, subdivision 4, provided
that a business that is directly solicited is certified as either a small business enterprise or
a small business that is majority-owned and operated by a veteran or a service-disabled
veteran.
