statement for Pineland Sands area.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PINELAND SANDS GENERIC ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
STATEMENT.

new text begin $1,854,000 in fiscal year 2021 is appropriated from the general fund to the Environmental
Quality Board to prepare, in cooperation with other agencies, a generic environmental impact
statement or similar environmental study that quantifies the effects of land use conversion
in the Pineland Sands area and predicts the cumulative effects of large-scale conversion to
irrigated agriculture, including the potential impacts on groundwater and potential impacts
of pesticides. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until June 30, 2024.
