A bill for an act
relating to housing; requiring state-financed housing projects to provide for
maintenance; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 16B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin For the purposes of this section, "state money" means
an appropriation of money from the bond proceeds fund, the general fund, or any other
fund in the state treasury.

new text begin Good maintenance required. new text end

new text begin A state agency making a grant or loan of
state money to another entity to acquire, construct, or improve rental housing must require
proof by the grantee that the grantee has provided for adequate personnel and funds to
maintain the housing as safe, habitable, and in good repair for the useful life of the housing
acquired, constructed, or improved with state money.
