A bill for an act
relating to education; requiring consultation prior to acquiring facilities for the
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008,
section 136F.64, by adding a subdivision.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 136F.64, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

Before acquiring a facility or requesting an appropriation for
a facility for a campus, the board must determine if a school district or local government
has space that is suitable and available by purchase, lease, or joint powers agreement for
use by the campus.
