A bill for an act
relating to transportation; specifying control over access to a frontage road that is
tied to a highway access; amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 160.18, by
adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 160.18, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin Access to frontage road connected to highway access. new text end

new text begin If access to a highway
is provided from a frontage road, the department must control the right-of-way on the
frontage road for 150 feet measured from the center of the cross street which intersects the
highway with the frontage road. Beyond that point, a local road authority must have control
over access to the frontage road.
