1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to health occupations; promoting the use of 1.3 best practice guidelines; proposing coding for new law 1.4 in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 147. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. [147.38] [BEST PRACTICES GUIDELINES.] 1.7 Subdivision 1. [HEALTH-RELATED BOARD.] For purposes of 1.8 this section, "health-related board" means the Board of Medical 1.9 Practice established under section 147.01, the Board of Nursing 1.10 established under section 148.181, the Board of Chiropractic 1.11 Examiners established under section 148.02, the Board of 1.12 Optometry established under section 148.52, the Board of 1.13 Physical Therapy established under section 148.67, the Board of 1.14 Dentistry established under section 150A.02, the Board of 1.15 Pharmacy established under section 151.02, and the Board of 1.16 Podiatry established under section 153.02. 1.17 Subd. 2. [BOARD APPROVAL.] A health-related board, in 1.18 consultation with a relevant professional association or 1.19 specialty organization and the commissioner of health, may 1.20 evaluate and approve best practice guidelines and shall make any 1.21 approved guidelines available to interested practitioners 1.22 through the board's Web site.
