BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.

[626.891] MUNICIPALITIES MAY ESTABLISH RESIDENCY
REQUIREMENTS.

A county, home rule charter city, or statutory city may impose a residency
requirement on peace officers that requires a peace officer to reside within the jurisdictional
boundaries of the municipality that the peace officer serves.
