  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing public sale of 
  1.3             certain tax-forfeited land that borders public water 
  1.4             in Koochiching county. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND; KOOCHICHING 
  1.7   COUNTY.] 
  1.8      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  1.9   282.018, subdivision 1, Koochiching county may sell for not less 
  1.10  than the appraised value the tax-forfeited land bordering public 
  1.11  water that is described in paragraph (c), under the remaining 
  1.12  provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  1.13     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.14  attorney general. 
  1.15     (c) The land that may be conveyed is three parcels. 
  1.16     Parcel number 1 is:  Plat of Forest Point - Lot 62. 
  1.17     Parcel number 2 is:  Two acres of Government Lot 2 
  1.18  described as follows: 
  1.19     Commencing at waters edge of Rainy River where 1/4 line on 
  1.20  West side of Lot 2 intersects said river, thence due South 40 
  1.21  rods alongside 1/4 line, thence due East 8 rods, thence due 
  1.22  North 40 rods, thence due West 8 rods to place of beginning.  
  1.23  Section 33, Township 16ON, Range 26W. 
  1.24     Parcel number 3 is:  Plat of Mizpah - Lots 13, 14, 15, 16, 
  1.25  17, and 18, Block 4. 
  2.1      (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  2.2   management interests would best be served if the lands described 
  2.3   in paragraph (c) were returned to private ownership. 
  2.4      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.5      Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
