Imposing restrictions on the possession of certain regulated (wild) +animals,
defining regulated animal; requiring persons wishing to possess +regulated
animals in the state to register with the board of animal health and +under
certain federal regulations to obtain a license from the federal +department of
agriculture, including persons currently possessing regulated animals+ in
compliance requirements; requiring a federal license to breed +regulated
animals; restricting animal sale authority to registered persons; +imposing a
civil penalty on persons knowingly permitting the possession of a +regulated
animal on controlled property without complying with the +requirements;
specifying the registration procedure, authorizing the board to +charge a fee;
specifying certain additional requirements for persons possessing +regulated
animals relating to recordkeeping, veterinary care and notice of +escape,
requiring persons unable to provide adequate care for regulated +animals to
attempt to place the animal with a wildlife sanctuary or licensed +wildlife
rehabilitator; providing for board seizure of animals for +noncompliance with
the requirements, specifying certain notice requirements and +authorizing
requests for hearing; authorizing and providing for destruction of +seized
animals under certain conditions; authorizing board civil or criminal+ charges
against persons knowingly violating the requirements(je)
