Authorizing health care providers to designate credentials verification entities to collect, verify, maintain, store and provide core credentials data to health care entities, health related licensing boards or the commissioner of health for practice privileges or participating provider status application purposes; corrections, updates or modifications to be the responsibility of the health care provider, requirements; requiring health care entities employing, contracting with or allowing health care providers to treat patients to use the designated credentials verification entity to obtain core credentials data on the providers; providing for access to the national practitioner data bank by the commissioner, health related licensing boards or health care or credentials verification entities; prohibiting the collection of duplicate data and providing for the availability of data collected, authorizing a fee; specifying certain standards requirements of credentials verification entities; restricting health care entity recredentialing requirements, prohibiting reimbursement denial during recredentialing; granting health care entities immunity from liability for the use of credentials verification entities (mk)
