E Providing for the control of chronic wasting and wildlife + diseases; defining
or redefining certain terms under the provisions regulating farmed +cervidae;
further regulating the slaughter of farmed cervidae relating to food;+ modifying
certain fencing and identification requirements; authorizing the +commissioner
of agriculture and the board of animal health to inspect farmed +cervidae
facilities; requiring registration with the board to possess live +cervidae,
authorizing seizure and destruction by the commissioner of natural +resources
(DNR) for failure to comply; requiring and providing for surveillance+ of farmed
cervidae herds for chronic wasting disease; specifying certain +inventory
verification and filing, movement reporting and slaughter testing +requirements;
making permanent certain cervidae import restrictions; authorizing +and
providing for certain actions by the commissioner of natural +resources to
prevent or control wildlife disease; modifying the use of a certain +portion of
deer, bear and lifetime hunting license revenues, authorizing use for+ wild
cervidae health management and modifying the trigger for cancellation+ to the
game and fish fund; providing for commissioner issuance of free +licenses to
take wild animals for wildlife disease prevention and control +purposes;
restricting importation and possession of hunter harvested cervidae;+ expanding
the authority of the commissioner to establish special deer seasons +and
restrictions; repealing certain provisions prohibiting cervidae from +being
allowed to run at large and requiring the destruction of wild +cervidae found
within the cervidae confinement area of a game farm replaced by the
modifications to fencing requirements (mk, ja)
