Establishing an employer wage assistance grant program to be administered by the
commissioner of employment and economic development (DEED) to subsidize wages
and benefits for eligible jobs outside the metropolitan area to retain
manufacturing jobs; specifying eligible employers and jobs; requiring and
providing for commissioner operation of a grant application process and awarding
of grants based on certain specified criteria, specifying certain grant limits;
authorizing commissioner audits, examinations and inspections of books, records
and facilities of employers to ensure the proper use of grant funds, requiring
employer cooperation; requiring repayment of grants under certain unfilled jobs
conditions for commissioner reuse
